Associate

Salon Dexterity is looking for a highly motivated stylist that is looking to expand their skills and work with a stellar team. Our associate program is a structured 4-6 month program designed to fast-track newly graduated stylists. 

Those with standout drive and dedication are invited to work hands on, alongside an Educator – an experienced SDX stylist. Building upon the foundation gained in cosmetology school, this program helps develop the specialized skills needed to be a successful stylist: building a clientele, understanding salon operations, improving communication with guests, honing technical skills and much more. 

Associates also have “Opportunity Days” provide services independently for customers they bring in, knowing they are supported by their educator and the rest of the team.

Our Salon

The SDX framework enables stylists to create independent success while working within a commission-based salon. We have a proven system of goal-setting, budgeting, marketing and decision-making tools that apply to all aspects of our business. This system enhances our focus and hones the entrepreneurial skills of every driven SDX stylist.

Each member of the SDX team is focused on growth and improvement. From our salon coordinator to the most experienced stylist, all roles invest continuing education hours each year inside and outside of the salon. 

Once a level of expertise is reached, an SDX stylist has the opportunity to become an Educator inside the salon. Through the Associate Program, he or she may be paired with a newly graduated stylist to mentor for the duration of the 6-month program. This is a leadership opportunity that also is financially beneficial to a stylist.

Qualifications/Requirements

• State of Texas Cosmetology License 
• Must present a polished, professional image
• Outstanding hospitality, communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills
• Ability to multitask in high energy, fast-paced environment 
• Meet full-time employment scheduling requirements 
• Ability to work side-by-side with your educator on every client 
• Driven and motivated attitude
• Open minded for constructive feedback
• Attend daily check-ins to review daily activities
• Attend regular assessment meetings to discuss learning progress and performance
